Course Photovoltaics: Domestic Installations.
Dates Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of March
Place Sunseed, Los Molinos del Río Aguas. Sorbas, Almería.
Brief Introduction and practice of  solar electric installations for self consumption.
Justification The photovoltaic power source is a good choice in areas where you have good sunshine, and if you do not want, or can not make, a connection to the grid or other commercial network of electricity.

If we want to build a facility on our own, we need to know the basic principles of electricity and photovoltaic systems.
Addressed to Persons who want to acquire the minimum concepts and theoretical-practical knowledge in order to deal with installation and maintenance of a photovoltaic power system.

No prior electricity or mechanical knowledge is required.
Objetives
  • Get in contact with the electric terminology, concepts and measurement units.
  • Understanding the phenomenon of electricity by photovoltaic panels.
  • Dimension, design and install a photovoltaic electrical system at scale.
  • Verify the learned in the operational installations of Sunseed.
  • Learn to perform maintenance of these systems by doing a real practice.
Program Saturday March16th

10:00 Welcome. Course presentation. Coffe and tea.

10:15 Basics on applied electricity.

11:30 Coffe and tea break.

11:45 Design and sizing of the PV system to perform. Recognition of components and functionalities.

13:30 Lunch.

14:30 Mounting the installation.

17:00 Coffe and tea break.

17:15 Continue assembly of unit.

19:30 Dinner.

Sunday March 17th

09:00 Breakfast.

09:45 Checking and verifying the model: Measurements. Safety practices.

11:15 Coffe and tea break.

11:30 Perform the maintenance of a solar photovoltaic installation: panel cleaning, voltage panels checking, revised sealing connections, cleaning rust batteries, re-fill batteries glasses.

13:30 Lunch

14:30 Conclusions. Comments and opinions about the course. Farewell.

This course will be run in English and Spanish. You need no previous experience or knowledge to join a course with us – all are welcome. In addition to learning lots of new things you will also be part of a low impact community in the beautiful surroundings of Los Molinos del Rio de Aguas in Southern Spain. FOR JOINING A COURSE BOOKING IS NEEDED

  • Refunds up to two weeks prior to course (minus 30 euro admin fee).
  • No refunds for cancellations within two weeks of course.
  • If there’s not a minimum of bookings, course will canceled and refunds will be 100%.
