Assistant position
The Communication Department coordinates the education of community members and visitors and the production of marketing and educational publicity material. Using social media, the Sunseed website and local contacts, we generate interest in our commitment to living a sustainable and low-impact lifestyle. Help out with taking creative photos and videos representing our activities at Sunseed, share your storytelling skills for creating the newsletter, and design some graphic materials for the project!
It is required that you bring your own laptop and phone to the project.
Duration: 3 - 6 months
Commitment: full-time
Core Responsibilities

Help out with writing stories for the Sunseed e-newsletters and publishing

Give the arrival presentation to our co-learning residents and other new arrivals

Assisting in the maintenance of Sunseed’s website, social media profiles and other web presence

Taking photos and videos of daily and weekly activities in the project

Design together with the coordinator other publicity materials such as posters, postcards, fliers etc.

Get creative and find formats and projects to approach the media with (magazines, websites, radio, TV etc.)

Helping to organise and publicise special events such as courses, guided tours and open days
Requirements

Experience writing blog items and social media posts

Knowledge about Instagram (producing content, posts, reels, analysing data, communication with users and knowledge about current algorithms)

Media/PR experience (desired)

Some skills or interest in photography and video making

Graphic design experience (At least one of: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Affinity, Canva)

Commitment to promoting low-impact living

Good organisational abilities

Good communication skills, including ability to work as part of a closely integrated team

Confidence, sensitivity, patience and open mindedness, enthusiams to welcome and meet new people
