We have a new domo!
Years of wind and rain have weathered away the cover of our beautiful Domo tent where we hold meetings, workshops and sharing circles. After more than ten years we have finally decided a change is needed!

Syntropic agroforestry at Sunseed
This approach to agriculture fosters a dynamic, regenerative and healthy ecosystem that restores degraded soil biodiversity. By planting trees, shrubs, and crops together with mulch, horse manure and humanure we mimic the forest’s natural ecosystem. After purchasing new trees we have planted them in our gardens giving them a new home to grow in. The symbiotic interactions between plants and our human management (chopping, pruning and dropping) will regenerate our soils.

Trading concrete streets for Carob trees
What does it mean to come to Sunseed? Why do people come here? Why change the comfort of city life to living in the middle of nowhere, depending on solar power and not being able to just quickly go grocery shopping?

Sonidos del Desierto: Acoustic outdoor concert with local artists
In September 2025 I organised an intimate outdoor acoustic concert with local and international artists. Designed to be an active listening experience where we break the border between audience and artists, the concert was a co-creative event where people come together as friends and share their love for live music. The concert was set in a beautiful space in the Sunseed land amongst wild bushes and olive trees with the desert mountains in the back and stars shining bright in

Sunseed attends the European Ecovillage Gathering 2025
From 12 – 17 August we attended the 2025 European Ecovillage Gathering, which was hosted by Mindenegyüttmegy Association (MEGY), a thriving ecovillage that happens to be one of the largest permaculture projects in Hungary. This year was a special year in the history of the ecovillage movement, as it marked the 30 year anniversary of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN), and the first year that the annual gathering was happening in eastern Europe.

Vermicomposting & transforming our views on society
Anna is currently doing her European Solidarity Corps (ESC) and is staying for 6 months in Sunseed, working in the Organic Gardens Department. For her personal project, she chose to build Vermicompost bins out of old fridges, combining upcycling practices with sustainable gardening methods. In this article, she´ll introduce us to the art of vermicomposting and how it can transform our relationship with nature, discovering again how intertwined our ecosystem is.

Pickling vine leaves at Sunseed
I’m Raphael, and I spent three months — from April to July 2025 — at Sunseed as a gardens intern. During this time, I took part in the core tasks that keep the gardens healthy and productive: planting, transplanting, weeding, composting, watering, seed saving, and harvesting. It was a hands-on experience that deepened my understanding of ecological gardening and sustainable agriculture.

Singing the many voices of Los Molinos
Los Molinos del Rio Agua is a living landscape that sings out as warblers, collared doves, nightingales and sparrows. It hums through blocks of fallen sandstone and sighs through grass cañas and laundry lines. It laughs over stones and silt and gypsum shards. It choruses as frogs and crickets as the light falls. And it murmurs in various human languages around Sunseed’s patio tables, where orange trees cast shadows and listen in over our shoulders as we talk late into the nig

“Can I see through you”: An audio-visual concept by Anouk Bouma
The video that I made is an experimental audio-visual piece that explores the ways in which we are in conversation with our environment. By experimenting with alternative filmmaking methods, I aim to capture the more-than-human experience of the surrounding drylands of Sunseed in order to expand and disorient our human gaze.
