Protecting your data

Climate change, desertification and species extinction are a real threat to our planet. By offering a site for educational courses and immersive experiences in low-impact living, Sunseed hopes to demonstrate and develop the knowledge and tools needed to bring about a more sustainable and healthy relationship with our ecosystem and its inhabitants. 
In order for us to achieve these charitable aims we need to collect and store a limited amount of personal data from our staff, volunteers and visitors - for example, name, address and email. 
For certain roles we may need to request additional information such as work experience, age, country of origin, motivation for joining Sunseed etc.
We take great care to keep the information you provide us secure and you can request at any time for your information to be changed or removed from our system. Your data will be kept in our records for 10 years after our last contact with you, if you do not request for it to be removed beforehand.
We will not sell, trade or give your data to anyone except in these circumstances:
With government agencies to meet mandatory legal requirements , organisations contracted by us to assist with administration, payroll, communications and marketing (e.g. GSuite, Xtreamlab.net, Mail Jet, Zapier, Paypal, Transferwise, Caixa Bank, Triodos Bank, WordPress, Contact Form Plug-in, Woocommerce) 
These organisations are required by law to protect your personal information and must only use it for the purposes that we define. We will not use your data in anyway that you have not given us permission for.
As volunteers and supporters of Sunseed we will wish to contact you from time to time to keep you informed about our work and upcoming courses and events. You can choose whether or not to receive this news, and by which method. You can withdraw your consent for us to contact you at any time.
