Earlier this year, our friend Lars, participated very enthusiastically in the biomass gasification cookstoves project. He was actively engaged in the development of the cane cartridges as an easy way to manipulated the cane in order to load the stove fuel cylinder for the Kaña!!! prototype. He just sent us some pictures of his first biomass gasification stove built together with his brother. Thank you very much, Lars, we wish you the best!

A principios de año, nuestro amigo Lars participó con mucho entusiasmo en el taller de tecnologías apropiadas de Sunseed dentro del proyecto de Hornillos de gasificación de biomasa para cocinar. Estuvo colaborando activamente en el desarrollo de los cartuchos de caña como biomasa de fácil manipulación para cargar los cilindros de combustible de el hornillo que hemos diseñado en Sunseed y llamado Kaña!!! Nos acaba de enviar unas fotografías de su primer hornillo de gasificación de biomasa construido conjuntamente por él y su hermano. Muchas gracias, Lars, te deseamos lo mejor!

The food basket of nature has a huge variety of products and our Sustainable Living coordinator Ana knows it! For this reason today she prepared some delicious snacks made out of agave together with two volunteers (Clemens and Freyja). We can’t wait to taste them! La naturaleza nos ofrece una gran variedad de productos para comer y Ana, nuestra coordinadora de Vida Sostenible, lo sabe bien. Por esto, ha preparado algo para picar hecho de la pita. Dos voluntarios (Clemens y Freyja) han ayudado en esta preparación y sabemos que será un éxito. ¡No podemos esperar para comerlos!  

Composting is an efficient way of recycling for example natural waste. In the following pictures you have snapshots of today’s work in the gardens of Sunseed. You can see David, assistant of organic gardens department working on a traditional method of composting that is using branches from pruned trees to turn into mulch. Here Rosi, also an assistant in organic gardens is turning and adding moisture to another compost pile. After a while the organic matter can be added into the garden beds together with goat manure and to enrich the soil. Crear compost es una medida eficaz para reciclar la basura organica. En las fotos que siguen, teneis ejemplos del trabajo en las huertas de Sunseed. Podeis ver a David, asistente del departamento de Huerta Ecologica, usando una tecnica tradicional para hacer compost que usa las ramas de los arboles podados para crear abono. Aqui Rosi, otra asistente de Huerta Ecologica, está mezclando y añadiendo agua a otro sitio de compost. Después de un tiempo, la materia orgánica se puede añadir en las huertas con abono de cabra para enriquecer la tierra.

Today Paco, the coordinator of the Appropriate Technology Department was working together with Irina, a volunteer from Russia. In the process of refurbishing and tiding up the workshop in Isabella’s house they were making new shelfs for future working projects. Our best compliments for tiding up the workshop in Isabella’s! Hoy Paco, nuestro coordinador de Tecnologia Apropriada, trabajando junto con Irina (una voluntaria desde Rusia, estaban remodelando y limpiando el taller en Isabella. Este trabajo ha producido nuevas estanterias que seran utiles para proyectos futuros. Nuestros mejores congratulaciones por este trabajo.
